Pentewan Sands is a five-star Holiday Park in Cornwall occupying an enviable position on their own private beach, with excellent family facilities including an indoor swimming pool and a range of holiday accommodation to suit all needs.
Family run for over 75 years, Pentewan Sands proudly retains a unique sense of community and personal connection with their guests, many of whom have returned to the same spot for decades.
Responding to change
Pentewan Sands historically provided cabaret-type entertainment, but since the lockdowns of 2020/21, they have attracted guests seeking a more independent, active holiday experience ‘on the beach’ and ‘on the water’. Bringing with them their own boats, SUPs & kayaks, guests now prefer to relax in the evenings enjoying the sunset and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Pentewan Sands continually invest in their facilities: The Seahorse provides superb swimming & dining and provisions for EVs are increasing throughout the site.
The team at Pentewan approached Gendall to accelerate their web presence into the future, reflecting the changing desires amongst guests and embedding their proud sense of community and passion for providing a five-star guest experience.
Creating a
sense of place
The Pentewan brand existed clearly within the minds of the leadership team at the park, but the visual identity had yet to be truly defined. This meant that our first step was to send the team to the park to observe and digest the sights, sounds, shapes, colours and feeling of life at Pentewan Sands.
The subsequent design process developed an overall brand visual language, extending the colour palette, introducing more suitable typography, inspirational images and subtle use of shapes.
Designing an experience
The result is a new website design which is centred in the experience of staying at Pentewan Sands, celebrating the outdoors and the adventure that awaits.

Our headless website combines the super-intuitive Sanity CMS and Gatsby frontend framework producing an easy-to-use CMS for quick content editing, and a frontend that loads quickly for users. Our modular approach to design is flexible and responsive, and integrates Gemapark’s Booking Widgets for accommodation search and booking.
Continually optimising and traffic driving
Our Search & PPC specialist, Simon, handles the ongoing optimisation of the website and closely manages PPC campaigns to deliver high quality traffic, raising awareness of Pentewan Sands amongst the right people and increasing the revenue through the website.
